About
The journey to Kalsubai began around 12 a.m. before this exposure was made. It was about a six-hour level 7 hike in the dark, which wasn't too tough but still pretty energy-consuming ascending to the top. It helped that six other yogis from Sky Light Yoga were there every step of the way. Once we made it to the temple, we sat down in siddasana and fought off the monkeys attempting to steal our phones and water bottles. The sky does not get caught up in the clouds. The sky represents us, who we are as the self, ever-expansive. The clouds represent the many variables of practical reality. On my path, I’ve seen how easy it is to dwell on all the problems our mind generates. There will always be animated moments of life; how we deal with them is our choice. At 31 years of age, I want peace, not to be pieces. Not to wear the mask of anger or despair for too long. Here’s a mind nugget I carry in my pocket: anger leads to loss of memory. Loss of memory leads to loss of reason. Loss of reason leads to one’s own destruction. This photograph reminds me of the monkey mind focusing all its attention on the problems clouding my vision of what is truly important, inner peace. Starring down at the clouds creates harm; surrendering to this life creates harmony. Photographing Nature is therapeutic. Always bringing me back to these simple yet profound messages.
Kalsubai Peak, 1,646 metres (5,400 ft), is the highest point in Maharashtra; Ahmednagar district of Akole Taluka.

Hello world, in this life, I walk with a camera in hand as a tool and form of creative expression. When I was younger, I would hear doubts about how anyone could sustain a living through photography. I’ve learned that the world has more stories than it wants to tell. In the last 15 years of placing all my focus on studying and working in this medium, I can say confidently that everything needs visual representation in a modern world. Through capturing light, doors continue to open, giving more and more meaning to my life. I share these words and lean completely forward to one of my biggest dreams, putting my work out there in the physical form of a print. Your support during this time goes a long way.
