About
After 10 years away from my Caribbean homeland of Saint Lucia, I decided it was the perfect time to reweave. In October of 2025, my family and I flew down so my son could see and know the faces of his father’s side of the family. This trip also aligned with the annual island-wide celebration known as Jounen Kwéyol every last Sunday of October. My Aunt Alesha Francois was paramount in my upbringing. At her home in Ti Rocher, Micoud, many cultural experiences and memories were forged. This woman is by far the hardest-working human I’ve known. She spends most of her day-to-day tending the vegetation and produce she grows. Her patience with me sticking cameras in her face has definitely increased over the years. While my aunt carries out her duties, I make the time to ask questions and listen to the stories she walks with. For me, moments like this make the circle whole in honoring our elders. To be available enough to learn from what they’ve experienced on their path. To understand the deep impressions on their hands, one must keenly listen. Cleaning fish stands out as a nostalgic detail of a trypical westian moment of childhood. This photograph has been published here to give flowers to those who provide, feed, and nurture. Who pass down life lessons and explore the many schools of thought in everyday conversations.

Hello world, in this life, I walk with a camera in hand as a tool and form of creative expression. When I was younger, I would hear doubts about how anyone could sustain a living through photography. I’ve learned that the world has more stories than it wants to tell. In the last 15 years of placing all my focus on studying and working in this medium, I can say confidently that everything needs visual representation in a modern world. Through capturing light, doors continue to open, giving more and more meaning to my life. I share these words and lean completely forward to one of my biggest dreams, putting my work out there in the physical form of a print. Your support during this time goes a long way. I am simply an instrument of our creator, telling a story through observation. I appreciate all your support and engagement as I set the intention to get more of my work out into our world.
