A tightly framed glimpse of a small market stall, the photograph centers on a scuffed green door crowded with hanging bags, fabrics, and produce. At the bottom left, a bulging mesh sack of bright orange onions (or similar root vegetables) spills forward, its color set off by a wrinkled blue plastic sheet beside it. On the right, a thick navy-and-white striped blanket droops over part of the frame, softening the scene with its heavy folds.
Near the top center hangs a yellow woven sack printed with playful cartoon animals and the phrase “¡Gracias por su compra!”—a friendly “Thanks for your purchase” that quietly anchors the image’s title and theme of everyday commerce. Above and around it, smaller plastic bags of produce and goods cluster in the margins, suggesting the bustle of a working stall just outside our view.
Shot on Kodak Colorplus 200, the image has warm, saturated tones and subtle grain that lend it a nostalgic, almost tactile quality. The greens are rich, the oranges and yellows glow, and the textures—frayed fibers, worn paint, crinkled plastic—are heightened by the film’s character. The result is an intimate, affectionate portrait of ordinary objects arranged by use rather than design, revealing the quiet beauty of daily life in Cuenca, Ecuador.
Photo finish: Legacy Etching is a pure white 100% cotton fibre paper with a textured matte finish. This paper simulates the touch and feel of old-world artist etching pads and handmade paper, but with the advantage of current technological improvements. It has an industry-leading microporous inkjet receptive layer that produces deep, rich blacks (Dmax), expanded color gamut, and gentle tonal gradations, and will provide outstanding image permanence and durability.

Hello world, in this life, I walk with a camera in hand as a tool and form of creative expression. When I was younger, I would hear doubts about how anyone could sustain a living through photography. I’ve learned that the world has more stories than it wants to tell. In the last 15 years of placing all my focus on studying and working in this medium, I can say confidently that everything needs visual representation in a modern world. Through capturing light, doors continue to open, giving more and more meaning to my life. I share these words and lean completely forward to one of my biggest dreams, putting my work out there in the physical form of a print. Your support during this time goes a long way. I am simply an instrument of our creator, telling a story through observation. I appreciate all your support and engagement as I set the intention to get more of my work out into our world.
