“Carry the Zero” presents a figure caught in an awkward, almost ritualistic entanglement with industrial material. A person stands against a pale, sunlit wall, their upper body obscured by two long, flexible ducts draped over their shoulders like exaggerated, metallic limbs. The tubing bends and arcs downward, extending past the body and nearly touching the ground, creating a strange hybrid form—part human, part object.
The subject’s posture feels burdened yet deliberate. Their head and arms are hidden within the loop of the material, suggesting both concealment and immersion. Dressed in earthy tones—rust-colored pants, dark shirt, worn shoes—the human element contrasts with the reflective, synthetic texture of the ducts. The ground beneath them is rough and dusty, reinforcing a sense of dryness and isolation.
There’s a quiet tension between absurdity and meaning. The image reads as a visual metaphor—perhaps about carrying unseen weight, entanglement in systems, or the strange extensions we adopt to navigate the world. The title, “Carry the Zero,” hints at something mathematical or existential: holding onto nothing, yet still bearing it as if it matters.
Photo finish: Legacy Etching is a pure white 100% cotton fibre paper with a textured matte finish. This paper simulates the touch and feel of old-world artist etching pads and handmade paper, but with the advantage of current technological improvements. It has an industry-leading microporous inkjet receptive layer that produces deep, rich blacks (Dmax), expanded color gamut, and gentle tonal gradations, and will provide outstanding image permanence and durability.

Hello world, in this life, I walk with a camera in hand as a tool and form of creative expression. When I was younger, I would hear doubts about how anyone could sustain a living through photography. I’ve learned that the world has more stories than it wants to tell. In the last 15 years of placing all my focus on studying and working in this medium, I can say confidently that everything needs visual representation in a modern world. Through capturing light, doors continue to open, giving more and more meaning to my life. I share these words and lean completely forward to one of my biggest dreams, putting my work out there in the physical form of a print. Your support during this time goes a long way. I am simply an instrument of our creator, telling a story through observation. I appreciate all your support and engagement as I set the intention to get more of my work out into our world.
